All other rooms can be air-conditioned at an extra charge.
In the thick walls of the main house and the vine-covered guesthouse, we feel that air conditioning is not urgently necessary and not good for the environment. However, if you wish, we can provide you with mobile air conditioning from a premium manufacturer for your room and stay at an extra service charge, bookable online on our booking page. To compensate for the enormous CO2 emissions, we will plant a tree for every day of use.

 

Bar

We serve bar drinks during restaurant hours. Would you like a bar drink that is not on the online menu? No problem, contact us and we will try to fulfil your wishes, subject to availability.

 

Baby Ammeneties

We can provide a high chair, special baby plates or food warmer on request, please ask at reception.

 

Babysitter

If you wish, we can arrange a babysitter for you through the Catholic Caritas Ansbach babysitting service. Please ask at the reception.

 

Bathrobe & slippers

You will find slippers in your room, you are welcome to take them with you, we will bring you a bathrobe free of charge on request – should you wish to keep the “Bock” bathrobe, you are welcome to purchase it for Euro 25.00.

 

Bed linen change

We change your bed linen every three days, or we can change it daily for a small extra charge of €5.50 per person per change.

 

Bicycles

You are welcome to leave your bicycles in our loggia or garden house, our garden gate is locked at night, but we do ask that you lock your bicycles. If you have wet clothes you can hang them in the laundry room.
If your bike needs repairing or you need to hire a bike, we can help you find a specialist. The nearest repair shop is

Breakfast

We are Regionalbuffet and Bioland certified and breakfast is included in most of our packages. On weekdays and Saturdays we serve our breakfast with local specialities in the restaurant from 07:00 to 10:00 and on Sundays and local holidays from 08:00 to 10:00. A continental breakfast can be served in your room on request. Please see “Room Service”.

In addition to your continental breakfast, you can order additional items from our online menu such as scrambled or fried eggs, cereals and muesli.

Early – regional & sustainable: Start the day strong, at the Hotel Schwarzer Bock in Ansbach you can also order vegetarian or gluten-free rolls! Whether you are an early bird with a quick coffee to go or a lover of an extended breakfast – you will not find the uniform “Bratwüstel” and mountains of fried eggs in the “Chaving” dish at our hotel, we are also regional & sustainable at breakfast! Reservations required for away guests.

We have USB sockets at reception and various chargers at reception, please ask if you need help with your iPhone or other items.

 

Charging Station Car – Charging Station Pedelec

We have a 22KW charging station for hotel guests. This is available free of charge during your stay, subject to availability, when you book a parking space. For bicycles we have 10 sockets in the garden. Guests from outside the hotel are not allowed to enter the pedestrian zone and therefore cannot use the charging point.

 

Check-Out time

In order to make the rooms available for the following guests, we request that you vacate your room by 11:00 a.m. You are welcome to leave your luggage with us until the evening. You can book a late check out online if available.

 

Children

We have highchairs, children’s menu and various toys for children in the restaurant to prevent boredom. There is a Nintendo Classic in the playroom. Children up to the age of six can stay in their parents’ room free of charge. For children up to about three years old we have cots that can be booked. Within 8 minutes walking distance there is an open childcare for children from 0 to 10 years, Mütterzentrum Ansbach, Brauhausstr. 11, 91522 Ansbach, Tel.: 09 81 – 9 50 87 36.

 

Coffee / Nespresso sustainable compostable

You will find a Nespresso machine with compostable organic capsules in your room, please help yourself to the speciality coffees in your room free of charge. If you have any questions about how to use it, you will find a manual there, or you can call reception on extension 10 for help.

 

Computer service

You can borrow a Tablet PC from the reception for a fee of Euro 25.00/day.
We can help you with small problems, such as connecting to the WLAN, and refer you to a specialist in Ansbach for bigger problems, such as with your hardware:

Copying & Printing Service

We can photocopy your documents in A4 black and white for €0.50 per page. Please ask at reception. For printing, please send your data in pdf format to hotel@schwarzerbock.com, we do not accept USB data or any other external devices to be connected to our network, we do not open any files except pdf.

 

Medical Doctor

The nearest MD is Dr. med. Günther Topf, Reitbahn 3, Tel: 0981 5693, doctor for general medicine, internal medicine, environmental medicine and sports medicine.

 

 

Dry cleaning

We are happy to take your clothes to the laundry on weekdays. You will receive your clothes back within 24 hours if delivered before 09:00. As this is an external service, we cannot guarantee the quality or timeliness of the service and will pass on the cost of the cleaning to you with a delivery and collection fee of €12.00.

 

Early departure

If we are unable to let the room at short notice due to early departure before the end of the booking period, we reserve the right to charge 100% (room) to 80% (additionals as breakfast/menues) of the room price in accordance with our terms and conditions. If we are still able to let the room, this will not apply and any prepayments will be refunded pro rata.

 

Fire

Our house is equipped with smoke detectors. In the event of an alarm, if you are alerted by someone else or if you suspect a fire, do the following

– Call the fire brigade: telephone 0+112 (What When Where Who).

– Move to safety

– Inform sleeping people without putting yourself in danger

– Help people who need help without putting yourself in danger.

– Move to the ground if there is smoke

– Do not open warm doors

– Hold a damp cloth over your mouth and nose if there is smoke

– Memorise the escape route when you enter the room

– Have access to your room ready

 

 

Forgotten and left behind

Forgotten your toothbrush? At the Maxi Bar you can get toiletries such as toothbrushes and pasta or razors for a small fee. Forgotten something in our house? Lost property is kept at reception. If you provide us with a correct address, telephone number and credit card details for postage (we will pay for the box and packaging), we will be happy to send you your forgotten items on request. We cannot be held responsible for forgotten items.

 

Guest satisfaction

We welcome your feedback, so please let us know what you liked or disliked, and please give us your subjective opinion, as we want to keep improving with your help. If you find a problem, please let us know and we will try to remedy it as soon as possible, if possible in a 500 year old house.
All guests who check in online will automatically receive your satisfaction check.

 

International Socket Adapters

We do have a number of adapters for different types of sockets to fit into the German “Schuko” socket, just ask us at the reception desk.

 

Internet access

Our W-LAN network is operated by Hotsplots and is encrypted. Simply accept the terms and conditions and log in, and use is free.

 

Ironing and laundry service

There is an iron and ironing board in your room.
We will wash and iron your clothes if you wish. Please leave your laundry in the laundry bag in your room. We will do the washing and ironing within 24 hours if possible, the next morning by 09:00. The price for machine washing is Euro 12.00 per machine and dryer cycle and for ironing Euro 8.00 per item for shirts and trousers. We can also iron small quantities (1 shirt/blouse or trousers) within one hour for a charge of Euro 15.00/piece.

 

Jogging Walking Runnung routes

You can walk directly from our garden gate along the Rezat meadows or take a tour of the courtyard garden – maps are available at reception.

 

Luggage service

Luggage delivery for early arrivals is available for a small fee. We are happy to assist you with your luggage transport. You are welcome to leave your luggage with us for up to 24 hours until your onward journey or early arrival. Please call Reception on extension 10 or contact us directly. If you need help moving your luggage, please do not hesitate to ask.

 

Maxibar

Take advantage of our 24-hour Maxibar in the Bock Stube. Seasonal drinks, meals and snacks, many of which are organic. The essentials such as toothbrushes, razors and many other delicious and practical services are also available around the clock.

 

Newspapers & Magazines

Regional magazines and the latest Bioland Food magazine are available in your room and at reception.

 

Parking

Our house has 4 private parking spaces in front of the house from 15:00 to 11:00, which can be used for a small fee when booking directly through our website in connection with a room booking only through our website. For insurance reasons, the parking time is always linked to our stay at the hotel. If you need the parking earlier or later, you must also book the early check-in or late check-out for the room. Please keep the entrance to the hotel restaurant clear at all times (red carpet must be clear). As we are in the centre of a historic town, we ask you to park carefully and economically, as we cannot be held responsible for any damage to your vehicle in the car park. Parking in front of the house is prohibited as it is a pedestrian zone. There are approximately 2,000 other parking spaces within a radius of 800m in car parks and public places.

We accept cards: Visacard, Mastercard, American Express and EC-Maestro, we only accept charges for corporate customers and only if presented in writing and accepted prior to check-in. We regret that we do not accept any foreign currency.

Reception hours

Our reception is open from 06:00 to 22:00 during the pandemic, if no one is available at short notice, please dial 10 for reception on the telephone and your call will be transferred to a member of staff in the building.

 

Restaurant organic certified

Our restaurant and breakfast is 100% organic certified “Bioland Gold Status”. We have a digital menu in English, so please bring your smartphone with you. The German menus are also available on paper.
We are a member of the Frankenhöhe Lamb Community, which offers only lambs from local pastures. The lambs are fed on the herbaceous meadows and dry grasslands of the Frankenhöhe, resulting in the high quality of the meat. We are happy to accept reservations for hotel guests, please book online if possible.
Outside restaurant hours we offer organic and regional dishes and snacks in our Maxi Bar 24h / 7 days a week.

 

Room service

We offer room service as usual from 06:00 to 22:00 – we try to do our best to serve you, please let us know your needs and we’ll try to help.
All meals and continental breakfast can be served in your room on request. Please choose from the online menu and the room service option. There is a service charge per order for room service.

Safe

At reception you can deposit your valuables in our high security central safe. Please check the current reception opening hours. Hunting guests are requested to store their equipment in accordance with the special regulations for travellers.

Security

Please make sure you close your room door securely when you leave. You can identify visitors through the peephole in the door. The front door and garden door are locked after 10:00 pm at the latest.

Sewing Necessaire & Sewing Service

f you have a small mishap, you will find a small sewing kit in your room or we can help you with a needle and a selection of threads at reception. For major mishaps there is a tailor shop about 100 metres away at Pfarrstrasse 3.

Shoe care

There is a shoe shine machine on the second floor (US/CAN) / first floor (UK/Rest of World) of the main building.

 

Sightseeing

Ansbach is the rococo town of Franconia. The historic old town offers a wide range of sights, including our house, which is a listed ensemble comprising the former Chancellery, the Residence and the Gumbertus Church. Use our Top Tip list:

• Residence – 27 state rooms and the Hall of Mirrors are open to visitors.
• Orangery and Court Garden – one of the most beautiful ensembles of buildings and gardens in Germany, with a memorial to Kaspar Hauser.
• St. Gumbertus Church with the former Swan Knights’ Chapel, the Hohenzollern Tomb and the largest baroque organ in Franconia. Free Organ concerts often Saturdays.
• St. Ludwig’s Church, a neo-classical building based on Leo von Klenze’s standard Bavarian plan for a large village church.
• Herrieder Gate, a baroque showcase gate with glockenspiel playing the famous Hohenfriedberg march “Auf Ansbach Dragoner …” shortly before 11:00 and 17:00.
• Synagogue with baroque interior

Stationery & House Mail

We can provide you with some stationery and writing materials. Postcards are available in the house and at reception. You are welcome to leave your mail with us and we will post and stamp it for you and charge it to your room bill.

 

Taxi

If you require transport for a small group or individual, please ask at reception in good time for a large-capacity taxi. Taxi Ansbach +49 (0) 981 5005. If you need a shuttle service within the city of Ansbach during reception hours, we are at your disposal.

 

Towel change

If you want new towels, please put them on the floor, we will be happy to change them daily. If you want to help protect the environment and reuse your towel, leave it on the towel rack.

 

TV, Sky TV, DVD

Sky TV, including Sky Sport, is available in every room. Your room has a flat screen TV with HD reception and a DVD

 

Umbrella

Umbrellas are available to borrow free of charge at reception – if you like our “Bock” umbrella and would like to take it with you, it is available for Euro 12.00 per umbrella.
